Update on My Health 1 28 2020

I have many health issues, most of which I struggle with on a daily basis.  Fibromyalgia, diabetes, migraines, just to name a few. 

More recently, I have been having issues with my right shoulder.  It started with me not being able to raise my arm above shoulder height when my arm was out stretched.  If I ran my hand up my body, I could then go above my head but had no strength to hold anything remotely heavy.

My doctor sent me for xrays and started me on an anti-inflammatory.  The meds helped with the issues in other areas of my body but did nothing to help the issues in my shoulder.  At that point, she sent me for an MRI and referred me to an orthopedist. 

The orthopedist changed my anti-inflammatory and added in a muscle relaxer along with having me try physical therapy to increase my range of motion.  The physical therapy helped with my range of motion but did nothing for the pain. 

Next step was surgery to repair the damage in my shoulder.

Oven Rack Cleaning 1 28 2020

We have lived in this apartment now for almost 2 years.  In those years, I have cleaned the oven and the racks a few times, but they never really fully looked clean to me.

I have no idea how long the appliances were in the apartment before we moved in or how long ago they were cleaned before we moved in.  Just that thought makes me cringe a little. 

In this video, I test out a pinterest hack using dryer sheets.

Weird Cat Poses 1 14 2020

If you have ever owned a cat, you may find their antics very funny. 

I have plenty of times when I find their antics frustrating.  Times like when I am chasing them off the top of my cabinets or fridge, but there are plenty of times when they make me laugh.

This video is composed of pictures I took of our cats in various poses and funny expressions.  I hope they make you laugh as much as they made me laugh.

Deer Feeding Ground 1 13 2020

Our apartment is on the edge of town.  That means we see plenty of wild life, which includes deer.

These particular ones love the grass close to Skye's school. 

These guys also seem unafraid of me or of the traffic driving past them.  I find this fascinating.

Draining & Filtering Deep Fryer Oil 1 10 2020

Did you notice my typo on the video card?  If not check it out.  I can only blame exhaustion and pain.  I have mentioned before that I had Fibro but I have an upcoming video on my health that will explain more on what is going on so watch out for that one.

In the mean time, it was well past time to filter the oil out of my turkey fryer.  We had used it a few times to deep fry turkeys and it was definitely time to handle this not so fun job. 

I drained the oil using the included spout and then filtered through coffee filters.

Laundry Room Clean up 1 8 2020

As adults, we realize that cleaning is a never ending cycle.  We clean, things get messy, and then we clean again.

Today's video is an example of that.  Here I am straightening up the laundry room once again.  I do also speak briefly on what I wish to do in the laundry room down the line.

Using Enzyme Cleaner

I had used the enzyme cleaner before, but hadn't recorded it.  So as promised, I showed you how I used the cleaner in this video. 

I used it anywhere I thought additional scrubbing was needed.  Mainly, I used it in the bathtub and around the kitchen and bathroom sinks.  I had also used it on the counters a few times as well.

Spa Day with the Girls 1/3/2020

We had the kids over this weekend, the first weekend the Big Guy has been off work in a while.

The girls and I had so much fun while the guys played video games.

Skye and I went to Walmart and purchased some face masks and the girls had a blast trying all the different kinds.

New Years Day Pink Eye 1/1/2020

Skye spent the new years eve with friends, but came home to give me a beautiful announcement.

She had pink eye.

So our New Years Day event was a trip to the ER because everything else was already closed for the holiday.

I do think this was the quickest trip ever to the ER, we were in and out within 20 minutes. 

Unfortunately, the pharmacies were already closed so I had to wait til morning to have her prescription filled.

Welcome Pickle

Welcome our newest addition to the house: Pickle.

Pickle is a little dog.  We think he is part miniature pincer mix.  We aren't sure what the mix is but we think it could be some kind of beagle, chow or some other kind of dog that has a curled tail.

Christmas Morning 12/25/2019

Join us on our adventure this Christmas morning...

All together, we had 7 people here for Christmas morning.  All four kids, plus three adults with the kids mom joining us as well.
