Making Pasta

Not everyone likes to make recipes from scratch.  I don't necessarily enjoy making things from scratch myself.  That doesn't mean that the items I buy from the store are bad.  I love finding shortcuts when it comes to anything simply because it makes my day easier.

I do enjoy making homemade bread and this is the first time I have made fresh pasta in quite a while, years even.  So I decided to go for it.

Fabric Order

I have mentioned before that I still get birthday cards.  Well, with the money from my dad I ordered new fabric.  I plan to use the fabric to make myself a new set of unpaper towels, or reusable paper towels.  I am also planning some new maxi pads and want to attempt to make my own period underwear.

Wish me luck and I am still trying to figure out all the details.

Simply Earth Recipe

I was so excited when I got my first Simply Earth box.  I couldn't wait to try out one of the recipes.

Because I paid for the box and the recipes it came with, I am not able to give you the full recipe.  I wouldn't like it if someone did it to me, so I am showing you how I made it without giving all the info.

Melaleuca Order

Every month I place an order through Melaleuca.  I started ordering from them because the cleaning products are eco friendly and safe for kids and pets.  I have continued to order from them, cleaning products and more, because I absolutely love them.

I have naturally curly hair, with high frizz issues when its humid out.  Skye had my curls when she was younger, though now its more like a wave, but she also has my frizz.  We are both guilty of damaging our hair with products, heat, and crappy cheap shampoo.  Melaleuca changed that for my hair.  Yes, I still have frizz at times, but my hair is softer than it has been in years.

I am slowly trying the makeup so I will let you know what I like when I figure that out.

Rain Storms

While I have always heard the saying, "April showers bring May flowers", it is no longer April and I am tired of the showers.

This rain storm was wicked.  Heavy down pour and crazy rain.

Simply Earth Box

Well, my birthday falls in April.  This year I turned 41.  Most days I feel twice that age.  So when I got money from my mom for my birthday, I ordered the Simply Earth Box with that.  Yes, I still get birthday cards with money from my parents.  My mom and step-dad send me one and my dad and step-mom send me another.  I know, I am spoiled.  I'm very grateful for the cards and money and try to do something for myself with it.

I can't wait to try the items in my box for this month.

Pulled Down the Stairs

I am sure that I have mentioned it before, but our dogs are assholes.  This day was no different.

I was taking the dogs out for their morning walk, got a few steps down and then dragged down the rest of the stairs as the dogs tried to get to one of my neighbor's dog, who was coming up the lower set of steps.  I didn't see the neighbor coming up the bottom steps until I was already going down them, and our dogs saw the other dog at the same time I did.  I don't know if the dog looked like a fun playmate or not, but the end result was me belly flopping onto the concrete and then being dragged a short way before stopping.

A friend of Skye's was coming up the steps and saw the whole ungraceful flop and went to get Skye for me.  Skye then took the dogs out behind the building to do their business.  She brought the dogs back upstairs and then checked on me.  My kiddo may have her issues, we may but heads at times, but she is a genuine person and loves deeply.  She was worried and didn't want to go hang out with her friend, but I insisted she keep her plans.  I was mainly sore, with some scrapes and a raw section of my arm, but more angry that I didn't catch myself than anything else.

Paper Eater

I couldn't explain the holes that resembled bite marks that I kept finding on random papers every so often.  Until I caught the culprit in the act.  By "culprit", I mean Ick and by "in the act" I mean actually chewing on paper.

I grabbed the camera right away, though I didn't get it all on camera.  I was just too surprised to react at first.

Dehydrated Peaches

The Big Guy was given a few number 10 cans of different items.  There was a few that were crushed pineapple, cranberry sauce, pinto beans, and peaches.  The cans were dented so they were not allowed to be used in the nursing home.

I have not used the cranberry sauce ones yet as I am still trying to decide what to use those for or how to use them.  I did make a big batch of pineapple jam, I also dehydrated some of the pineapple (after blending it and removing any excess juice, to make fruit leather.

Here I am splitting the peaches in half and dehydrating them for later sweet goody candy like treats.

Crazy Kitty

Our cats are crazy.  They are also very curious.  It always amazes me when they find a new spot to congregate, like on top of my curio cabinet.

Or like this time, in my basket of clean clothes.
