Before the remodel, the majority of my utensils were stuck in different drawers. There wasn't one big enough to hold all of our silverware and utensils together. We also only have one bigger drawer, the other two drawers we had were maybe half the size, if that.
I can't even begin to explain just how frustrating it was trying to find a specific tool or utensil. It meant looking in all the drawers to see which one it had fit into the last time it was used and washed. This just led to chaos, confusion, and wasted time.
With the construction being done, I was determined to find a better solution. I found a large lazy susan on Amazon. I believe it is a 20-inch lazy susan for, I believe, under $30 dollars. I didn't mind spending that price because that was the most expensive part of the system. I then bought a roll of patterned contact paper from Walmart and made use of the empty formula cans, toddler formula cans, and coffee cans. These of course were free since we had already purchased them.
I took the labels off the cans, washed them thoroughly, and let them dry completely. I then covered the cans with the patterned contact paper, put the lids on the bottom, and filled the cans with the utensils that we had and used.
I love the finished product.
