I'm still not quite sure what happened here. It seems like the cats decided that Athos looked like a nice, soft, comfy bed to lay on. What do you think?

I'm not sure about you, but a happy baby will make me smile no matter how bad the day seems. So enjoy a little happiness from Waverly.

Skye found a recipe on Facebook for Sweet Tea Concentrate, so we decided to try it. I used quart size jars.
3/4 cup sugar
6 tea bags
boiling water
quart jars
Add boiling water to your jar, about 3/4 of the way full. Add your sugar and tea bags. Let steep for 20 minutes, then remove the tea bags. Check the level on your jars, you want 1" headspace so top the jars off if they are lower than the rim. This recipe calls for water bath canning for 10 minutes. I am over 1,000 feet above sea level so I have to water bath can for 15 minutes. Let cool overnight, then remove rings, wash the jars, and add to your pantry shelf.

On this day, I am canning dry pinto beans to have on the shelf for Athos.
I will open a jar, mix half of the jar into his dry kibble, and put the other half in for a different day. I do this for him to make sure he is getting as much protein as I can. I would love to switch him to all homemade food, but my health isn't the best at the moment so I do what I can.

It amuses me that Athos follows around whomever is eating. He has access to food 24/7 so he definitely not going without eating. He also gets table food and anything that we give him as extras.
On this day, he was sitting under Waverly while she was eating to catch any tidbits she might throw his way.

Once upon a time, many years ago...ok more seriously back in my 20's I worked for a day care center. We won't talk about how long ago that was now. Anyway, one of the activities the toddlers seemed to enjoy was playing with rice.
To give Waverly a place to play with it, I put her in her high chair (limiting the area that can get messy is always a good idea), and gave her a bin of rice to play with.

On this day, I am giving Waverly a PBJ (peanut butter and jelly) sandwich to try out. She wasn't sure about it at first.
