Well, I will admit that I went a little crazy with my step son's 17th birthday cake, but you only turn 17 once after all.
His favorite cake was strawberry, so I had to add that. I couldn't ignore the other types of cake so I made 3 kinds. His cake included strawberry, yellow, and chocolate cakes. I made strawberry butter cream to go in between the layers, and frosted the entire cake with sweetened whipped cream that I also made. Then I topped it with some sliced strawberries.

We tried to do 4th of July a little differently this year. We got the kids each of their own fireworks to light off, so we did those today (which is actually the 3rd of July).
We did get some good shots along with some things not to do again.

I think its because I am always so warm. That explains why all the cats just love to lay on me. I am their own personal heating pad.
You can also tell what kind of a day I am having, health wise, by the number of pets that are attached to my butt. The more that are attached, the worse my day is, or the higher my pain level is.

Cirkul is a replacement for just plain water.
You get a wide range of flavors, some with caffeine, some with electrolytes. and others with no added sugar.
Either way, it is a change of pace for those people that dislike plain water (like the Big Guy).

This year I am so proud of myself. I was happy that I finished my Dad shirts before father's day. Some years it just seems to pop up on me too quickly to do anything productive.
It's a process. It starts with creating what I want using my Cricut and design space. It takes time to get everything arranged just right.
Then, you have to use the Cricut to cut out my designs. Next is the weeding process. Weeding consists of removing the parts of the vinyl that you do not want to stay in your design.
After that, you iron the shirt to get out any wrinkles, you don't want wrinkles in the finished vinyl design of course. And the final step is ironing on the design to the shirt.
Some designs are quick and some designs take some time to work through. I captured the weeding process and ironing process on the shirts I was making.

Every month I receive an item, or items, that help our world last just a little longer. This month, I chose my item to help make lunch time for the Big Guy a little easier.
He recently started working at a new job and went from an 8 hour shift to a 12 hour shift. Because of that, I started sending him to work with a lunch box. Whether he ate it or not, I felt better knowing he had something just in case he wanted it or needed it.

I am so proud of myself. I have been wanting to do these shirts for the past couple of years, but time always seemed to get the best of me. Then, before I could blink, Father's day had passed.

In this video, I used my surger to sew these new paper towels. If you don't have one, these can still be sewn on a regular sewing machine. That was how I made the original ones. Put right sides together and sew around all the sides, making sure to leave a section open to turn them. Turn them so the right sides are out and then top stich around all the sides again, making sure to catch that section that was left open.

Every month I place an order through Melaleuca. I started ordering from them because the cleaning products are eco friendly and safe for kids and pets. I have continued to order from them, cleaning products and more, because I absolutely love them.
I have naturally curly hair, with high frizz issues when its humid out. Skye had my curls when she was younger, though now its more like a wave, but she also has my frizz. We are both guilty of damaging our hair with products, heat, and crappy cheap shampoo. Melaleuca changed that for my hair. Yes, I still have frizz at times, but my hair is softer than it has been in years.

I am sure that I have mentioned it before, but our dogs are assholes. This day was no different.
I was taking the dogs out for their morning walk, got a few steps down and then dragged down the rest of the stairs as the dogs tried to get to one of my neighbor's dog, who was coming up the lower set of steps. I didn't see the neighbor coming up the bottom steps until I was already going down them, and our dogs saw the other dog at the same time I did. I don't know if the dog looked like a fun playmate or not, but the end result was me belly flopping onto the concrete and then being dragged a short way before stopping.
A friend of Skye's was coming up the steps and saw the whole ungraceful flop and went to get Skye for me. Skye then took the dogs out behind the building to do their business. She brought the dogs back upstairs and then checked on me. My kiddo may have her issues, we may but heads at times, but she is a genuine person and loves deeply. She was worried and didn't want to go hang out with her friend, but I insisted she keep her plans. I was mainly sore, with some scrapes and a raw section of my arm, but more angry that I didn't catch myself than anything else.

The Big Guy was given a few number 10 cans of different items. There was a few that were crushed pineapple, cranberry sauce, pinto beans, and peaches. The cans were dented so they were not allowed to be used in the nursing home.
I have not used the cranberry sauce ones yet as I am still trying to decide what to use those for or how to use them. I did make a big batch of pineapple jam, I also dehydrated some of the pineapple (after blending it and removing any excess juice, to make fruit leather.

Well, we have finally gotten someone at the apartment complex to try to fix the issues with our cabinets that are under the kitchen sink. Following my doctor's orders was not something I thought would cause a problem for my pets. We were battling ring worm in our house with the kittens. The doctor thought some of my spots were not ringworm but could be scabies, which is a very common skin issue, and the protocol in the office was to treat for that first and then test further if the spots remained. Because of the number of spots I had at the time, the doctor told me that I may need to treat my skin twice, 2 weeks apart.
During those 2 treatments, we lost multiple kittens, all of which would lay on me most of the time. Now, I do need to explain how the treatments were done. Before bed I would put the cream on, from my hairline down, with the exception of my lower girly bits. Once I was coated, I put on socks, pants and a long sleeve t-shirt, to keep from getting the cream on anything else, then I went straight to bed. Morning, I would go directly into the bathroom and shower before doing anything else.
Because I was so diligent with using the cream, I never connected the two issues together. The cream and the cats. Never. Until Chunk. We lost her a few days after my second treatment. I was devastated. I cried for days. Chunk was my baby. The cats that we lost all had a seizure and then quickly went down hill from there. So I searched online for more information. What I found made me cry even harder. The number one cause of seizures in cats was the cream I used for my skin issues.
I am sharing this information for one reason. Because there are no mention of this cream causing problems with animals on the label. It says don't let children get to it, but nothing about causing harm to our pets. I am hoping that talking about this issue, that many people experience but don't discuss it just incase someone things badly about them, or think they are dirty or don't care for themselves. I am hoping that this helps spread the word on how dangerous it is to our pets.
The name of the cream is Permethrin Cream.

Have I mentioned lately just how much of a dork I really am? Well, I finally went and did it. I finally have an actual wire soap cutter and loaf splitter now. I am so excited to make soap again too.
I don't think I have made any soap since I moved to Tennessee and I am jonesing for a fix. A soap making fix that is. I struggle to cut anything straight, shoot I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler most of the time. I feel like a grown up now with my special soapy toys.

I found the original recipe from Noreen at Noreen's Kitchen at this link:
Here is the recipe too.
2 large cans of crushed pineapple + enough water to equal 6 1/2 cups
6 cups of sugar
2 boxes of pectin (approximately 9 tablespoons plus a little extra)
1 Tablespoon of butter (this helps with foaming)
Start with your pineapple in a heavy bottomed pot. Mix 1/4 cup of the sugar with the pectin in a bowl, then add this mixture to the pineapple. Adding a small about of the sugar here helps prevent the pectin from clumping up.
Bring this to a rolling boil that you can not stir down.
Add the rest of the sugar and the butter.
Bring this back up to a rolling boil that you can not stir down and boil for 1 minute stirring constantly.
Turn off the heat. This is where you decide how to preserve the jam. I canned mine so it would be good for longer period of time.
Fill the hot jars with hot jam to a 1/4" of headspace. I added the filled jars to the water bath canner, then brought the water up to a rolling boil.
Once it was up to a rolling boil, I let it process for 5 minutes + the altitude adjustment. For me this is another 5 minutes since I am over 1000 feet in altitude.
After the time was up, I let them sit in the canner, with the heat off, for an additional 5 minutes. Then removed them to sit on a towel on the counter until the next day. Then I tested to make sure all the jars sealed, made labels for them and put them in my pantry to use.
What is your favorite use for pineapple jam? I have tried it in PB&Js, yummy, and think it would make a good cover over ice cream. Kinda banana split like.

Jack is a weird cat. He spends a lot of time in the cage, which we know sucks, but his personality tendencies are more destructive than the rest of the cats.
He wants to fight with the other cats, which means we have issues with abscesses from the fighting, and he also likes to spray, which means the apartment and everyone's stuff ends of smelling like cat pee. No Bueno.
So while he is in the cage a good portion of the day, he is not hurting other cats by attacking them and he is not spraying every item that was left out, including the couch, walls, any fabric item left out by accident, you name it. We do want to get him fixed, which will help eliminate some of these issues, and then he can be out full time again. Until then, we make do with what we have.
Jack is quirky and has weird tendencies. I mean, how many other cats drink water by putting their paws in the bowl and taking the water from their paw. I have never seen a cat that cleans its paws in water either. The majority of the cats we have are not water fans. Well, all of our cats are not fans of water, but Jack is different.

Our apartment may not be huge, but it is full of love. Love of our pets, children, and friends.
This day, Molly gave us two precious babies to grow our love more. Not to mention, fate having a little fun with us.
See, this is Molly's 4th litter.
Apple and Pudge were the first litter.
Apple and Pudge each had a little of almost all black kittens.
Lily, Boss, and Mao were the second.
We suspect Mao is pregnant right now, but Lily hasn't had any babies yet.
Chunk was her third, and also a surprise.
She is too young yet.
Now these two rolly polly babies are her 4th.
I say this with a giggle because before Apple & Pudge had their two litters, none of the cats were solid black, so we thought we were safe. Solid black cats are my absolute favorite cats. So the Big Guy told us we were only going to keep 1 cat from all the litters, but only if it is solid black.
Guess what.....all the kittens born since then have all been solid black. Well played, Karma, well played.

Have I mentioned before that I can be a big dork? If not, then I'm telling you now. I love organizers, love things having a home to go to, and love being organized. What I don't enjoy? The time it takes to get organized, but who doesn't. The process of getting organized is very soothing to me. It doesn't really take too much time either. I had these done in just a few days from getting them all in binders, to creating the spread sheet for the movies.
You can find the binders I used Here: I do earn a little money off this link so thank you for helping to support my family.

I wouldn't say that our apartment is small, but it is small when it comes to storage spaces. It is not always easy to find ways to organize around a lack of extra closet or linen space.
It isn't always easy to predict what will be the best options for the apartment. That means that I will try one thing for a while and if I find that isn't the best option, I will try another for a while.
Back when I first moved to Tennessee, the first Christmas I was here we did baskets of personal hygiene items for each of the kids. It made them feel special and helped them to understand the concept of personal hygiene. The bad thing was that we were storing the bins in our entry closet so most of the time the kids would get in the shower and forget to get their bins first.
This option means they still need at least a foot stool to get the bins, but now they are already in the bathroom. It also means they have a safe place to put anything they don't want the other kids messing with.

I realize that you are watching this video months after I filmed it. For all you know, I have grown bored and have changed everything again.

See how I utilize my Christmas present in this video:
If I needed proof that the kittens were meant to be in our household, I now have it.
All of our pets, and kids for that matter, are very food based creatures. For a candy bar, you could bribe them all to do most things. I won't say all, mainly because some things take more energy to accomplish and the kids may just not go for that. The animals on the other hand, will do just about anything for food.

I am not sure what I was thinking, but I let her do it.
She first bleached the color out of my hair, then added the purple/pink dye to my hair.
After the recommended time, I washed and conditioned my hair, making sure to rinse the dye out very well.
The color didn't take well in my hair, showing many different shades of the dye, but that is not because of something Skye did wrong. It's just how my hair responds to that type of dye. Not only that, but my hair has a tendency of going a bit brassy when its bleached, which we didn't have anything to correct that tone, so that didn't help the color.
Overall, she did a pretty good and thorough job, even if my hair didn't cooperate that well.

I found this recipe a few years ago on Youtube through Heather at the Kneady Homesteader and fell quickly in love. I do adjust the sugar content at times or change up my pectin based on what was available to me at the time.
Heather posted that she got the original recipe from here:
I also used that same recipe while making this batch. For those unable or unwilling (meaning you don't want to go to another site), the recipe is as follows:
Making Jelly from Bottled Juice
6 cups bottled juice, any brand or any flavor just make sure it is NO SUGAR ADDED
2 boxes of regular or classic pectin ( I measured to see how much was in the 2 boxes and it was a little over 9 Tablespoons)**
7 cups of sugar or sweetener of choice **
1 Tablespoon of butter
1. First thing I did was to wash all of my jars, rings & lids in hot soapy water. I then put those jars into a water bath canner, filled it with enough water to fill the jars and cover them by an inch or two. Bring the water to a rolling boil and boil the jars for about 20 minutes to sanitize and sterilize them. Because these are being canned in a water bath canner, this is important to ensure safety of your finished product. After 20 minutes, turn the heat down to low to keep them hot while you make the jelly.
2. While your jars are going, get the rest of your ingredients ready. Measure out your sugar and set it aside in a large bowl. Take a 1/4 of a cup of the sugar and combine it with your pectin in another smaller bowl. The pectin will mix into the juice easier this way and it will help it not clump up.
3. The original recipe calls for adding the pectin mixture to the hot juice, but frankly I am just not that patient. I usually add it to the juice, whisking it in as I do, and then turn the heat on. I haven't experienced any issues doing it my way, but go with what makes you comfortable.
5. Once the juice comes to a rolling boil, that can't be stirred down, then add the rest of the sugar and the butter. For those of us out there that are new to canning, and I still consider myself a newbie even after a few years of doing it, a rolling boil is when the liquid inside the pot continues to bubble around your spoon as you stir it. I usually use a whisk for this to keep it from clumping, then switch to a spatula so that I can get all the jelly out of the pot.
6. While the lids no longer have to be boiled, you would still want them to be warmed up. I usually let my faucet run, our hot water tank is a boss and gives us steaming hot water without having to boil it, though I have also used my water kettle for this part too. I put my lids only, the rings don't need to be hot, in a small pot or bowl, then cover the lids with the hot water, whether it is from the faucet or from my electric kettle. If you don't have either of my choices, then put the small pot on the stove and turn it on until the water is steaming hot, then turn it off and cover the pot to keep the water as hot as possible for as long as possible. The lids no longer need to be boiled to work though so be careful to not go that far if you are using a pot on the stove.
7. Going back to the juice now, bring that back up to a rolling boil that can't be stirred down, then time it for 1 minute stirring often. I usually just stand there and stir during this time so that nothing sticks to the bottom or burns. Once it has been a minute, turn off the heat and jar your jelly.
8. If you are new to making jelly, you can follow the instructions on the link above for testing the jell of your jelly. I have not run into a problem with my jelly setting using this method so I don't usually check it. But now would be the time for that if you choose too.
9. When it comes to jarring the jelly, remember to leave 1/4 inch of head space at the top. This allows for expansion and contraction of the contents of the jar, expelling the extra air in the jar and creating the seal and that wonderful ping we all listen for.
10. Let the jars sit, undisturbed, until they are room temperature. I usually leave them until the next day and pray that the cats don't knock them off the counter. I have yet to find anything that completely deters them from their curiosity of things on the counter, so I just wash it more often.
11. The next day, remove the rings, wash if needed, and label the jars with contents and date the jelly was made. Any jars that didn't seal need to go inside the fridge and used up right away. Sealed jars should last on the shelf for the 18 months the jars are guaranteed to be by the jar manufacturer, or however long you are comfortable keeping them. I don't usually have any that lasts that long.
Now sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. 😊
** I make this with regular classic pectin, if you prefer the No/Low sugar pectin then lower the sugar to 4 1/2 cups. I have made this recipe with regular pectin and only 6 cups of sugar and it did turn out, though it was not as firm as it is with the full sugar amount. Again, do what is most comfortable to you and yours.

Well, in our house it seems like there are some things that are just big opposites.
Our smallest dog, Pickle, weighs in at about 10 pounds and he is the more aggressive of the three dogs. He is the first one to growl or bark at people or noises outside. Athos is our middle dog, weighs in at about 40ish pounds, and he is our resident whiner. Jerry Lee, our oldest dog, weighs in at about 80 pounds and he thinks he is a lap dog. At least with me.
We got Jerry Lee as a 6 week old puppy. He is a German shepherd and coon dog mix, with both parents weighing in around 100 pounds. I got him from someone that I was working with at the time. He is named after the German Shepherd in K9, a Bulushi movie.
Jerry Lee was with both me & the big guy in Indiana for the first couple of months, then moved to Illinois with the big guy and I only got to spend time with Jerry Lee occasionally. I came back into Jerry Lees life on a daily basis when I moved to Tennessee. Needless to say, Jerry Lee had picked up some really bad habits that have been a pain to train out of him. He is a work in progress.
Anyway, I was sitting on the couch watching TV after taking the dogs out for the morning. Skye was able to record Jerry Lee trying to get on my lap.

I was floored when I ran across a video about canning meatloaf on YouTube a few years back, but now I am extremely grateful. I mean, who thinks of things like this. I certainly hadn't, but love it now.
I didn't use any specific recipe for the meatloaf. I went simple, using onion, green pepper, a little Worcestershire sauce, a little bread crumbs, and a couple of eggs then mixing until it was well combined. Basically, flavors that I know we all enjoy.
Then I raw packed the jars, leaving a 1" headspace. Once all the jars were packed, I wiped down the rims with vinegar to cut any fat/grease from the meat, put the lids on finger tight, and placed the jars in my pressure canner.
In the part of Tennessee that I live in, we are above 1,000 feet in altitude so I do have to adjust my canning for that. For pressure canning, I need a 15 pound weight. Then I pressure canned the jars, following my canner's instructions, for 90 minutes, which is the standard for any jars containing a meat product.
Because I was pressure canning these jars, I did not have to worry about sanitizing or sterilizing any of the jars, though I did put the lids in hot water to warm up the seals. The pressure canning process takes care of sterilizing the jars.
I was very grateful I had done this because just a few days later my fridge & freezer went out. The 3rd fridge that we had in the apartment since last May. We lost anything that was in the fridge and freezer. I cried.
After the 90 minutes was over, I turned off the burner and let the canner depressurize naturally. Once the canner was completely cool, the pressure was down, I then took the jars out and let them sit overnight as well. Then the next day, I removed the rings, washed the jars well, and labeled them with the date.
Big Guy has already dug into one of the jars and assured me it was very yummy. Since he didn't leave even a speck of it left in the jar and wouldn't share it with any of the dogs (his babies, cats are my babies he says), I had to believe him.

Remember that time I mentioned only having worn my winter clothes twice? This would be one of those times.
From what I have heard from other residents in the area, this was the first snow storm they had in quite a few years. That made me smile. They really thought this was a bad snow storm. I doubt they would have made it through an Indiana or Illinois winter. But then again, I didn't want to go through another of those winters either.
It sure is pretty though, but I really really hate the cold. Shoot, I think two of our dogs have never seen snow at all. Jerry Lee has, when he was with us as a pup. I would tie his harness to Skye's sled and then he would chase us around the yard trying to eat my pant legs, luckily I was wearing Carharts, the same ones I was wearing in this video actually. Athos and Pickle were both born in Tennessee as far as I know. Their reaction to the snow was a little funny too.

I grew up in the north. I was born and spent my first 13 years, roughly, in the south side of Chicago, the neighborhood of Canaryville. When I was going into 8th grade, my family moved to the suburbs of Chicago, Alsip.
From there, after the divorce from my first marriage, I headed east into Indiana. It didn't hurt that I had family all through different parts of Indiana.
Needless to say, I have driven in snow many times, for many winters, and through many storms.
I still remember a bad snow storm we had in Indiana when Skye was younger. I lived 45 minutes to an hour from where I worked. The snow was so bad that they let me leave work early, before the roads got any worse. Despite leaving early, it still took me over 3 hours to get home. The blinding snow was creating blowing snow drifts across the road causing blizzard like conditions. I couldn't go any faster than 30 miles an hour and that was pushing it.
The snow here in Tennessee is different. Mainly, because they don't usually get any. This year was different I guess. Come with me as I drive through the snow, running errands before the snow really hit. I removed the sound, private conversations during the drive you know, and added some music.
Before you start worrying, I had my phone on a stand attached to my dash board. I did not drive and film. That is just too dangerous.

Have I mentioned that I moved to Tennessee to get away from Indiana winter? NO, well the weather apparently followed me down here this year.
Between snow flurries and tons of rain, the temperature dropped here lower than I have seen since moving here. Hell, I haven't worn my winter coat or boots since moving here, until now.
These images were reminiscent of my childhood in the city. The icicles would form down from the roof and hang down from the gutters. As a kid, it seemed like the icicles were special treats from the heavens. We would open a window, grab one, then eat it. Don't even think I don't cringe at the yuckiness of that now, with my germ and OCD issues.
See the miniature icicles that Tennessee produced this past winter. I know this video is being posted in July, so enjoy the thought of cold weather during the heat of summer.

This is not the first time I used something other than my stove top to brown ground beef. The previous version I recorded was done in my crockpot back in Indiana.
This time around, I was browning a much larger size batch so I used my big turkey roaster. I broke up the meat as much as possible, and throughout the cooking time, to break the meat into smaller pieces.
I would check it every half hour to hour, stir and break it up some, then cover and let it cook again. As the meat let off fat, I would use a turkey baster to suck as much of the fat out as I could.
Unfortunately, I did loose some of the footage of this process so I couldn't show you a final picture of the beef. Doubly unfortunately, the fridge went out about a week after this and I did end up losing all of the meat that we had not eaten for dinners, including a good chunk of this meat.
I cried. I won't lie.

We don't order the filters from Cirkul every month, but we are trying to be a bit healthier when it comes to our drink choices. We are all big soda lovers, but the calories and the sugar (diabetic here) are not the best option.
Now, before you say it, I don't do diet soda. I have a bad history of migraines. The doctors are trying to help me get them under control. The artificial sweetener in diet sodas makes my migraines worse, plus it has a funky after taste that I just can't tolerate.
And last but not least, NO this is not a sponsored video. I am very much invisible to Cirkul.

I'm sure I have mentioned that I am originally from the north where snow is common. If you didn't already know that, you do now. Since moving to Tennessee about 3 years ago, I have worn my winter clothes from Indiana maybe oh twice, I think. And one of those times was about a week after this video when we got a bad storm roll through Tennessee.
In this video, I took video footage on the drive to a doctors appointment. I was not driving, before you get too worried. I was on a ride share with another woman who had an appointment in the same area as mine, about an hour from my apartment. I recorded out the window as we were driving simply because the view was too pretty not to share.
I did remove all the sound, to protect the privacy of the other rider and the driver. I also speeded up the footage and added music to make it a nice little ride. I hope you enjoy.

First, I would like to say a big thank you for helping me reach 1,000 subscribers. Our new goal is for 5,000. Help me reach that by sharing my videos.
Not everyone loves pets. But our house loves all babies, whether they are 2 legged humans or four legged fur babies. I don't know, maybe it is because I wasn't blessed to have a body that handled carrying human babies, but my fur babies are just as important to me as the 4 children me and the big guy have combined.
This round of kittens were no exception, but my favorite one was our little odd ball out. Felix. Named after the weird guy in the Odd Couple, the newer version of the show.
Sadly, Felix is no longer with us. We are not sure what happened to him, just that when we got up in the morning, he had gone to kitty heaven. We will miss his oddness a lot but wish him well in his heavenly pursuits.

I know it sounds insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but in our house that is a good thing. It means the kittens are eating regular cat food and not just nursing on their mommas.
It means the babies are getting bigger by the day.

Skye had a dentist appointment for her 6 month cleaning. Since she is in virtual learning, I had to drop off the doctors note at the school. On her way, we spotted a beauty.
I was able to pull off a picture of the deer, a little out of focus maybe, but before I could turn the camera on, there was a vehicle coming up behind us. The deer didn't seem to mind his audience though so I had to share it with you.

Do you ever think about what nastiness is on your floors? Think of all those spills, pet hair, crumbs, and even worse things that your broom may sweep through as it helps to tidy up your home.
Trust me some of the things my broom sweeps through just makes me cringe. That is when the baby gets a good cleaning, well as good as I can do at home in my bathtub. If you saw my last video, cleaning under my fridge, you would understand the kind of gross, nasty stuff that my broom comes in contact with.

Pets make messes. They have accidents, sometimes on purpose it seems.
Well our pets are no different.
In this video, I pull the fridge away from the wall to clean under it and behind it. The dogs had an accident earlier in the day and I wanted to make sure I got any of that grossness that may have seeped under the fridge since it is next to the dog cage.
Sadly, this nice big fridge went out a few weeks after I made this video and now we have an itty bitty baby fridge (at least that is what I call it).

I am not sure if I should be insulted by the cats or take it as a compliment.
I appreciate their love and acceptance of me, but does the fact that they use me as a bed mean that I am just chunky enough to make it padded for them?
Some days it is hard to tell which one they are thinking.

I love to cook, though I don't always have the energy to pull it off. Fibro, on even a good day, can leave you feeling just plain worn out constantly. When I am having a good day, I tend to make big batches of food to last for a couple days worth of meals.
When I do, I also make a plate for our neighbor across the way. Skye calls her Auntie Nell. She has attitude and spunk and watches out for us here so we do the same for her.
On this particular evening, Nell was the cook and she brought me over a nice big plate of tacos with rice and beans and the works. I was in heaven.
It is no surprise to anyone who has seen any of my videos that I am a white girl. That was not a racist statement. I cook like a white girl, but man does Nell love my tacos. She gets excited when I make them. Let me tell you, her tacos were amazing.
It has been a while since I had an authentic taco. Growing up in Chicago, there was a small place my parents would order from. I couldn't spell the name of the restaurant to save my life and since its been roughly 30 years since I have lived in that area now, I am not even sure it is still there. This plate of food brought me back to my childhood. It was amazing.

Pudge and Apples babies are growing like little weeds. They are now running around the apartment with the big cats and learning where everything is.
They still startle a little easily, which can be greatly amusing, but otherwise they are just miniature versions of the big cats.
Though with these babies I struggle to tell which one is which. Seven of the eight babies are mainly black, though Apple has a few with charcoal gray bums. Except for Felix. He is the odd ball almost solid white cat, with a black cow patch on his left eye and a striped tail.

Goodness, the weather here in Tennessee can be extremely weird.
Take this day for instance, I was sitting in my car and all of a sudden it was snowing. But it was really too warm to snow. It would immediately melt the minute it hit my windshield.

One of the things I truly enjoy about Tennessee is that it does not get any where near as cold in the winter as it does in Indiana.
Shoot, I don't think we even turned our heat on until December 1st. Back in Indiana, that would have to be on around the first day of school.
I couldn't tell you when the last time I wore a regular winter coat. I still have my winter coat, mind you, because I figured the way it normally works is if you don't have it, then you need it. I would much rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. So I kept my winter coat. It is keeping my closet warm.
We actually got a decent dusting of snow this time, though like normal, it didn't last very long.

Well, when I break stuff, I really break it.
Though I swear this time it really isn't my fault. The rear bearings (yeah that's probably not the right way to spell that, but it's just gonna have to do) on the red car blew.
And I do mean, they blew out. There was very little brake pad left and the bearings were so bad that brake fluid was streaming from them.

I realize that this post comes well after Christmas. But the truth is that I am one of those creatures that records many videos and then take a full day, days, or week editing and scheduling them out and this just happens to fall so far past Christmas based on what I had recorded first.
I know that no one is thinking about Christmas now in April, but maybe we should be. That way we can start thinking of what to get our kids throughout the entire year instead of at the last minute.
I say that when I am SOOOOO guilty of waiting until the last minute.

When Skye was little, we spent Christmas Eve at my mom's house. As she got older and I reconnected with old friends, we started spending Christmas Eve with my good friend Angel.
Angel had a tradition of everyone getting a new set of pajamas and a movie on Christmas Eve. Everyone would change into their new pajamas and then we would start a movie marathon, taking turns watching everyone's new movies, until it was time for everyone to head to bed for Santa.
Last year, we followed the same tradition with pajamas and movies. After learning that the Big Guy's kids didn't have a DVD player at home at the time (after they opened their gifts), we decided to forgo the movies this year and just did pajamas for everyone.

Well, when I do something, I do it right and no one can argue that point.
This day was no different.
I still haven't figured out how I managed to fall down the stairs. Was I rushing too fast down the stairs? Did I misjudge and miss a step on the way down? Did I trip over my pants or my own feet? I still have no clue which was the culprit.

What are unpapertowels, you ask? They are reusable towels that you would then wash and reuse again and again, instead of using one time use paper towels.
These ones I have had now for roughly 4 years now, I believe. I don't usually buy paper towels from the store, instead I use these. If they are soiled with something yucky or gross (example dog vomit), I put them in the bin with my reusable maxi pads so they get an extra rinse out before actually washing them.
I do run all my towels through a rinse & spin cycle before I run them through a regular wash. I have my machine set to automatically determine the water level, but to have an extra rinse during the cycle. This way, the towels that may be used to clean up something a little gross (example dog urine accident) and don't contaminate the rest of the good load by not coming completely out of the towel. Hopefully, that makes sense as its the best way my brain is able to explain it right now. If not, let me know in the comments what I need to clear up for you.

The final count is in.
Pudge had 3 babies. All of which are solid black.
Apple had 6 babies, though 1 was born dead. 4 of them are black at the head and charcoal gray at the bum end. 1 kitty is white, with 2 black patches on its face and a black and gray striped tail.
We weren't sure what to expect from this babies, but boy were we surprised.
